Objective of this interdisciplinary project is to develop general recommendations for the design of low-conflict continued expansion of offshore wind energy and to improve the general acceptance of wind energy utilization.

Contribution of the sub-project at the TU Berlin is to qualify the environmental and conservation-related recommendations and incorporate them into the overall project. Apparently there are reservations against the concrete forms of wind energy use, the result of differing expectations, values, interests and motives of those involved. The aim of this project module is to identify the main lines of conflict of offshore wind energy use. For this purpose, stakeholders and stakeholder groups are identified and their main motivation is described. The information about the main conflict lines and the role and objectives of the actors involved is integrated in the design and evaluation of questionnaires for on-site surveys. It is expected that the survey results give insight into the weight of conflicts for rejection or approval of the respective offshore projects.
