Background and objective of the project
In November 2019, the German Federal Foundation for the Environment announced the creation of a novel, interdisciplinary doctoral college on challenging phenomena in the context of the energy transition. The idea builds on an analysis of activity areas initiated by the DBU, which focused on making wind energy environmentally and socially compatible.
The creative, open space of a remote doctoral college is intended to facilitate discourse on the environmental and social challenges of the energy transition. At the same time, the consciously moderated and organizationally supported college is consistently capable of vocalizing ideas, in a transdisciplinary and largely comprehensible manner, while being permanently receptive.
The Department of Environmental Assessment and Environmental Planning at TU Berlin supports the DBU-Doctoral College with an accompanying project, which seeks to support a content-related merging of the topics as well as an interdisciplinary cooperation of the scholarship holders and also with the relevant project groups of the DBU. The acting spokesman for the college is Prof. Köppel.
